Care & Share House, Inc. is a volunteer based organization that provides free food and clothing to the people of Council Bluffs, Iowa and its surrounding communities.
Care and Share has NO paid staff.

Volunteers and donations are welcome!
Monetary donations, food, gently used clothing, and household items are always needed.

2024 Impact:

3,976 HOUSEHOLDS in our community received FREE food pantries for a total of 12,831 people – an increase of 13.5% over 2023. Last year set a new record for number of pantries provided since Care and Share House opened in 2012.

• In 2024, Care and Share received 176,728 lbs. or 88.4 tons of food from the Food Bank for the Heartland for distribution to food pantry clients.
• The Free Stores also continue to be very busy with many people selecting clothes and household items at no cost. Numbers are not available for the Free Stores as people are welcome to just come in and shop and do not register or sign in to shop.
• In 2024, our Coat Giveaway in October at South Main distributed coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens to 396 men, women, and children.  
• The Christmas Store at 5th Avenue provided 2 gifts, stocking-stuffers, candy, a stuffed animal, and a book to 145 families for a total of 396 children. Care and Share can only make such an impact with the support of our community. THANK YOU!
