Care & Share House, Inc. is a volunteer based organization that provides free food and clothing to the people of Council Bluffs, Iowa and its surrounding communities. Care and Share has NO paid staff.

Volunteers and donations are welcome!
Monetary donations, food, gently used clothing, and household items are always needed.

2025 COMMUNITY Impact:

  • FREE FOOD PANTRIES with 5-7 day food supply = 14,133 people in 4,470 households
  • RECORD NUMBERS SERVED - 10% increase over 2024 which was the previous record
  • ORDERED AND DISTRIBUTED FREE FOOD from the Food Bank =  87.2 tons 
  • DISTRIBUTED MANY ADDITIONAL LBS. OF FOOD from community donations
  • PURCHASED FOOD COSTS  =  $42,625.10

  • FREE STORES -  VERY, VERY BUSY!!!!!
  • RECEIVED AND DISTRIBUTED TONS of clothing, household items, books, and toy donations from the community
  • PURCHASED CLOTHING COSTS = $1,941.10

  • COAT GIVEAWAY - 757 COATS RECEIVED - 247 DISTRIBUTED IN TWO EVENINGS 
                                    Included hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, boots
                                    Remaining coats, etc. distributed thoughout the winter season.                         

  • CHRISMAS STORE FOR CHILDREN 12 AND UNDER -  - 391 children
            Distributed books, 2 gifts, stuffed animals, candy, blankets, puzzles, games
